Recoveries from COVID-19 in Montgomery County outpaced active cases for the second straight day of reporting, according to June 1 information released by the county public health district and emergency management office.

As of June 1, 484 county residents have recovered from the disease, 16 more than May 29's count of 468 recoveries. Meanwhile, 456 COVID-19 cases remain active in the county including 29 hospitalizations—two more than the May 29 count of 27. Twenty-six deaths have been reported in the county in relation to COVID-19.

Overall, 966 cases of the disease have been reported in Montgomery County since March 10, when the first local case was identified. That count increased by 12 since Friday, when a total of 954 cases had been reported.
