Starting May 13, the Montgomery County Memorial Library System will reopen lobbies for area residents to drop off their materials and pick up books that are on hold.

According to a post from the library system's Facebook page, the lobbies of all libraries will be open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The remaining parts of the library will remain closed until a later date.

The reopening is part of a phased plan that began March 18. During the closure, any materials that were due will not incur fees. All cards that expired Feb. 1 and onward have been extended until Aug. 1.

The South Regional Library will remain closed at this time due to construction.

Moving forward, the library system will continue to reopen based on guidelines from Gov. Greg Abbott and Montgomery County officials.
