Lone Star College announced it is canceling graduation ceremonies across its campuses this spring due to coronavirus.

Graduations were scheduled for May 6-9.

"This was not an easy decision to make,” LSC Chancellor Stephen Head said in a March 19 press release. “I know what a special time this is for our students, but given the circumstances, we felt it prudent to err on the side of caution."

Head added the college is working on alternative arrangements to celebrate the students' graduation.

All LSC campuses are currently closed to students until April 13.
