Between a crawfish festival, a burger throwdown competition and comicon, there is no shortage of events happening in the Greater Houston area this weekend, April 28-30. Texas Crawfish & Music Festival April 29-30 This 31st annual festival at Preservation Park in Old Town Spring features 11 local musicians performing on two different stages, including Mo Pitney and Mary Sarah. Vendors will be serving up a variety of food items including barbecue, Cajun food, hamburgers, ice cream and fresh boiled crawfish. Eldridge Pkwy., Houston. 281-890-5500. www.tradersvillage.com Throwdown Texas Burger & Music Fest April 29 This second annual event combines local live music with a competition between local restaurateurs to find out which burger is the “best in town.” This year’s competitors include Uncle Tony’s, Top Golf, 5.Ate Cafe, Nick’s Oyster & Dive Bar, RC’s Pizza, Kirby’s Prime Steakhouse and Hubbell & Hudson Bistro. During the festival, attendees also have the opportunity to browse items from more than 30 vendors and children can play in the kid zone complete with moonwalks and a rock wall. 11 a.m.-7 p.m. $10.
