Following the removal of his name from The Woodlands Township election website earlier this week, Luis Granados will not run for Position 3 on The Woodlands Township board of directors. Incumbent John Anthony Brown is expected to run unopposed for another two-year term. According to Nick Wolda, director of community relations for The Woodlands Township, Granados' application to run for township board was rejected and his name will not appear on the ballot. Wolda said information on Granados' application was not completed. "The rejected application was not completed in the box labeled, 'Length of Continuous Residence as of Date Application Sworn,'" Wolda said in an email. "Per guidance received from the Elections Division of the Texas Secretary of State’s Office, one of the required elements on the application is the candidate’s length of continuous residence in the state and territory from which the office sought is elected. If that box is left blank, then the application does not comply with the applicable requirements outlined in the Texas Election Code and must be rejected." Two races are still contested in this year's November election: incumbent Bruce Rieser will face off against Francis “Frank” Davgavage for Position 4, and incumbent Brian Boniface will run against Treva Taglieri for Position 2.
