The Woodlands Township announced via Facebook July 4 that it would cancel the 21st annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival and reduce the scope of the Fireworks Extravaganza due to today's inclement weather.

According to the post, Northshore Park will be closed to spectators for firework viewing, as heavy rainfall compromised one of the three planned launch sites. The Woodlands Township encourages spectators to view the firework display, which has been reduced to two launch sites, at any of the following sites:

  • Lake Woodlands bridge, which will be closed to vehicular traffic from 8-10:30 p.m.

  • Alight Solutions parking lots located at 9500 Lakeside Blvd., The Woodlands.

  • The Woodlands Waterway extension at Lake Front Circle

  • Rob Fleming Park located at 6055 Creekside Forest Drive, The Woodlands.

The annual Red, Hot & Blue Festival features food, live entertainment, children’s activities and family fun at multiple locations around The Woodlands, including Waterway Square and Town Green, Rob Fleming and Northshore parks, followed by a fireworks display. The Township has not announced plans to reschedule the event, as of press time.
