The filing period began July 25 to run for one of four positions on The Woodlands Township board of directors.
To date, incumbent Mike Bass has filed to run for Position 2, candidates John Brown and Stuart Schroeder have filed for Position 3 and Chris Grice has filed for Position 4.
Positions 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be on the ballot for the Nov. 8 election.
Incumbent Gordy Bunch currently holds the Position 1 seat and has announced his intent to file for re-election. He has served on the board since 2012 and is the CEO and founder of The Woodlands Financial Group and also serves as chairman of The Woodlands Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Bass was first elected to the board of directors in 2012. He is retired and has expertise in finance and international business.
Brown is a facilities supervisor at Huntsman International and has served on the Alden Bridge Village Association board for more than five years. Schroeder serves as president of the Cochran’s Crossing Village Association and is employed by Union Pacific Railroad. Incumbent Jeff Long, a retired engineer, has held the Position 3 seat since 2012.
Grice is a senior vice president with Amegy Bank of Texas, according to his LinkedIn profile, and serves on the Montgomery County Hospital District board.
Position 4 incumbent Ed Robb has served on the board of directors since 2010 and is the senior pastor at The Woodlands United Methodist Church.
The board of directors is composed of seven members who serve two-year, staggered terms.
Community Impact Newspaper will update the list of candidates as they file and will include candidate Q&A's in the Oct. 13 edition. The deadline to file is 5 p.m. Aug. 22.
