Following weeks of discussion with Village of Creekside Park residents, The Woodlands Township board of directors approved a resolution Jan. 27 regarding the development of a Wal-Mart store adjacent to the township’s boundaries.
The 186,000-square-foot Wal-Mart is part of the Augusta Woods Village development, which will be constructed near Augusta Pines Drive and Kuykendahl Road.
Although the township has no governmental authority over development of the project, which is in unincorporated Harris County, the township is working to address three areas of concerns for residents. Issues include traffic risks and mitigation; buffers and forestation for privacy and reducing sound pollution; and Wal-Mart aesthetics and signage.
The resolution was sent to a number of individuals and organizations associated with the project, including Wal-Mart, in an effort to accomplish the items published in the resolution.
