Diamonds Direct opened its first showroom in The Woodlands area June 1, which is its seventh store in Texas, according to a news release. The new 6,000-square-foot showroom in Wood Ridge Plaza includes inventory the company said is equivalent to that of about 30 traditional jewelry stores.
“This expansion into The Woodlands marks an exciting milestone for Diamonds Direct,” said Tamir Shkargi, vice president of Diamonds Direct, in a news release. “We are eager to introduce our unique approach to this community and continue to serve greater Houston with our now three locations across the metroplex. Our mission is to offer not just products, but lasting memories and cherished moments through our timeless creations.”
The retailer opened its first public showroom in 1995. It offers after-sale services such as complimentary jewelry maintenance and an upgrade policy.

KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot
A new Korean barbecue restaurant will be opening soon in Shenandoah. The exact opening date is not yet available, officials with Visit Shenandoah said. KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot merges traditional Asian hot pot cooking with Korean BBQ flavors using meat and vegetables.

The social entertainment venue offers 40 immersive high-teach challenge rooms for teams of two to four players. The new location will be 22,000 square feet in size, according to Visit Shenandoah. An opening date has not yet been determined.

The drink shop, which features bubble tea, milk foam and smoothies, originally announced it would open in 2023 but a June update from Visit Shenandoah said an official opening date has not yet been finalized.

The nonprofit organization helps young men ages 18-28 who have aged out of the foster care system. A new triplex home will offer Hope’s Path program members a place to live independently while receiving program services.
Hope’s Path leaders have raised $207,000 out of the $225,000 needed for the triplex home project, Program Director Brandon Anderchuk said in a May 8 email.

The Alcove Apartments
According to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation a 409,375-square-foot project is in the works to add a new apartment complex in the area. The facility, The Alcove Apartments expects to have eight buildings with four stories each, a pool cabana and pump room, according to the filing.
According to the TDLR listing, the $65.5 million project which began in January plans to finish construction on Jan. 30, 2025.

JAX Burgers
The burger restaurant announced the closure of its standalone location in Spring in early May, according to the business owners. While JAX burgers still operates a standalone location in Old Town Spring, it will also offer a partial menu through the Cosmic Cowboy Lounge in Shenandoah, according to its website.
JAX Burgers specializes in hamburgers and a variety of seasoned fries. Some of the menu items which will be available at Cosmic Cowboy Lounge include the JAX patty melt and JAX original cheeseburger.
