Arena Energy, a privately held independent oil and gas producer, will relocate its headquarters to Lake Front North in The Woodlands in 2019, The Howard Hughes Corp. announced in a news release Dec. 17.

Formerly the site of Chicago Bridge & Iron Co., Lake Front North was acquired by The Howard Hughes Corp. earlier this year and includes two Class A office buildings situated on 13 acres on the east side of Lake Woodlands. Combined, the buildings offer 258,058 square feet of office space for lease.

According to the release, Arena Energy, which has been housed in The Woodlands since its founding in 1999, focuses on pursuing lower-risk drilling opportunities on the Gulf of Mexico shelf. The company and its affiliate, Arena Offshore, plan to relocate to Lake Front North by Sept. 15 to accommodate growth.

“Arena is eager to start a new chapter at Lake Front North,” Arena Energy Managing Director Michael J. Minarovic said in a statement. “We view this move as a stepping stone to recommit our employees in our long-term Gulf of Mexico perspective. We are looking forward to creating an environment for collaboration in a newly designed space and taking advantage of the amenities that Hughes Landing has to offer. Holding true to our principles and disciplined approach to safely drilling high-yield wells; we will raise up a younger layer of talented leadership to continue the Gulf of Mexico business plan into the future.”

Arena Energy will lease floors two through four of Building 1 for a total of 87,231 square feet, according to the release. The first floor of Building 1 includes a fitness center with locker rooms. For more information about Lake Front North, click here.
