The Spider-Man snow cone at The Snow Cone Shack is a swirl of red and blue. The snow cone has a bit of a surprise flavor from an unusual name. “Tiger’s blood [flavor] is kind of punchy tropical, and that’s where the coconut flavor comes in,” Owner Michelle Foreman said. Although the snow cone is named after the popular comic book character, people of all ages order it. “It gets ordered by adults and kids, but I do think that it’s ordered more by kids just because of the name,” Foreman said. Like all of the snow cones at The Snow Cone Shack, the Spider Man can be ordered with cream, which is a secret recipe Foreman will not reveal. Foreman said she has been making snow cones for more than 18 years. The Snow Cone Shack now offers more than 60 flavors, some concocted through experimentation. “Just [with] individual flavors alone, we’re at 60-plus,” she said. Foreman said another popular snow cone flavor she created is birthday cake, which is made with sugar sprinkles and a scoop of ice cream. The Snow Cone Shack accepts cash only, and the sizes range from small ($2.25) to Big Mama ($5). “Big Mama is a 32-ounce cup,” she said. “It is ginormous.” 2002 Rayford Road, Spring, 713-824-1875 Hours: Mon.-Sat. 11:30 a.m.– 6:30 p.m., Sun. 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
