Officials with the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion announced Friday that Eric Church's scheduled Sept. 8 performance has been postponed until April 27, 2018, in response to Hurricane Harvey.

"There is a time and place for everything, and we really feel that now is not the time for us to play in Texas," Church said in a release. "I look forward to seeing everyone at the rescheduled concerts next year. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all."

To show support for Houstonians and all those affected by the historic weather event, Church announced he is designating funds from his rescheduled Woodlands and Austin performances to directly benefit Houston relief charities.

Additionally, Church is inviting first responders that have, and continue to, work to aid those affected by the storm to be his guests at the April 27 performance. Details on how to obtain tickets will be announced soon, said Ashley Gravois, the pavilion's public relations and educational outreach manager.

Current ticket holders that cannot attend the rescheduled April dates will be able to receive a refund for their tickets at the original point of purchase, Gravois said.
