A variety of events are set to take place in the Greater Houston area during the upcoming Fourth of July holiday. Here are a few to consider adding to your calendar. 1. July 1: Freedom Celebration The city of Katy will host its annual freedom celebration on Saturday, which will feature inflatable attractions, a petting zoo, concessions, balloon animals and a live and silent auction. July 1-4: Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular CityCentre will host four night of concerts and include a 15-minute fireworks show as part of its Fourth of July weekend event. Saturday will feature the Pete Simple Band, Sunday will feature Janell McDonald and Grace Point, Monday will feature the Max Flinn Band and Tuesday will feature People's Choice Band and a fireworks show at 9:30 p.m. 7-10 p.m. $10 (garage parking). July 4: Red, Hot & Blue Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza The Woodlands will host a community-wide Fourth of July celebration with food, live entertainment, children's activities and family fun at multiple locations around The Woodlands, which includes Town Green Park, Waterway Square, Rob Fleming Park and Northshore Park. The event will also feature an 18-minute fireworks show, with the primary display being at Northshore Park. Town Green Park and Waterway Square will have secondary close proximity displays. July 4: CITGO Freedom Over Texas Celebrating over 30 years of Fourth of July music and fireworks on Buffalo Bayou, Houston will host its signature event, Freedom Over Texas, again this holiday. The event will feature live performances by Hunter Hayes and DNCE, family activities, pyrotechnics and a patriotic tribute by the United States Air Force Band of the West. The event will conclude with a fireworks show by CITGO. 4-10 p.m. $8 (general admission), $10 (general admission on day of event). July 4: ExxonMobil Summer Symphony Nights-Spangled Salute The Houston Symphony will perform patriotic American music at the Miller Outdoor Theatre. The event will also feature a display of fireworks.
