Several streets in Missouri City will be reconstructed by next year.

Zooming in

At an April 7 meeting, Missouri City City Council approved a nearly $3.05 million contract with Aranda Brothers Construction for the reconstruction of seven streets located west of McLain Boulevard.

The reconstruction comes after the city assessed the pavement condition and determined the streets were at the end of their useful life, Public Works Director Shashi Kumar said.

According to agenda documents, the streets set to be reconstructed include:
  • West Hampton Circle
  • West Hutchinson Circle
  • Palmway Street
  • Oceanview Street
  • Poolview Street
  • Parkview Street
  • Flagler Street

The project is being funded by the city’s $85.85 million bond package approved by voters in November 2021, Kumar said.

In case you missed it

Meanwhile, City Council approved a $7.2 million contract with Brooks Concrete Inc. for street and sidewalk repairs citywide in March.

The contract includes more than $6 million for street repairs and $1 million for sidewalk repairs. Additionally, $200,000 will be used for sidewalk projects in Hunters Glen Park and Ridgeview Park.

Going forward

The project near McLain Boulevard is expected to commence in May and is anticipated to be completed by the first quarter of 2026, Kumar said.
