The shoe retailer signed a 10-year lease with NewQuest Properties at an 8,012 square-foot space at the shopping center and is scheduled to open by year’s end, according to an April 25 announcement.
“Skechers was looking at this space prior to COVID[-19],” said Josh Friedlander, vice president of Houston-based NewQuest Properties, which leases the power center along with David Meyers, the firm’s leasing director in the announcement.
The Grand at Aliana, located in Richmond at the intersection of West Grand Parkway and West Airport Boulevard, is tucked into a 1 million-square-foot corridor of new retail and has occupancy hovering around 98%, according to the announcement.
In that corridor, the population has increased by over 100% since 2010 with total households nearing 75,000, according to the announcement.
The move will mark the first Skechers store to be located in the Sugar Land-Missouri City-Richmond area, according to the shoe retailer’s website. www.skechers.com
