Missouri City City Council is moving forward with its search for the next city manager.

In an unanimous vote Oct. 18, the City Council decided to interview the top eight candidates for the position, as recommended by search firm GovHR USA.

Council Member Jeffrey Boney said interviews will take place in November, but specific dates have not yet been set.

Missouri City is in need of a new city manager after council terminated the employment contract of former City Manager Odis Jones without cause in April.
