Nov. 12: Opry on the Square

Nov. 13: 246th Marine Corps Birthday Ball Celebration

Nov. 13 is the 246th Marine Corps Birthday Ball Celebration at the Houston Marriott Sugar Land located at 16090 City Walk, Sugar Land. The ball will include a ceremony, dinner and dancing. 5 p.m.-midnight. $75 (individual ticket), $600 (table of eight). http://houstonmarines.org/birthday-ball


Nov. 13: Outdoor Expo

Missouri City's first Outdoor Expo is this weekend, featuring activities that include archery, fishing, bowfishing, conservation, wildlife education, outdoor cooking and camping. After the event there will be a community campout in the park. The Missouri City Parks & Recreation Department is partnering with Boy Scouts Troop No. 1424 to provide a camping experience in Community Park. Each family will get a campsite with nearby restrooms, a movie under the stars and a bonfire for s'mores. Nov. 13: A Sweet Escape to Sugar Land Town Square

This event on the plaza will feature lawn games, a photo booth and the opportunity to be serenaded by a barbershop quartet. Residents are encouraged to venture over to the Lone Star Garage to discover a candy-themed surprise. 4:30-6:30 p.m. Free (admission). Nov. 13: Serious Wheels Open Car Show
