Fort Bend ISD is continuing construction on several projects paid for by the $992.6 million 2018 bond, according to a Jan. 11 presentation by Chief Operations Officer Oscar Perez. Below are updates on rebuilds and additions across FBISD campuses.

Construction on projects to rebuild two Fort Bend ISD elementary schools is underway. Meadows Elementary School is 95% complete and is expected to reopen for students in March after spring break. Meanwhile, demolition is completed and construction is 8% finished at Lakeview Elementary School. The district estimates Lakeview Elementary will be substantially complete by October with students returning to the building in January 2022.

A 12-classroom addition at Neill Elementary School is complete, and the new classrooms are operational, while a 10-classroom addition at Madden Elementary School is 50% complete.

High School No. 12 is 10% complete. Work on the project began in May, and the building is scheduled to open in the fall of 2022. The new school will be located south of Hwy. 6 and east of FM 521 and is expected to alleviate capacity concerns at Ridge Point High School, according to previous reporting by Community Impact Newspaper.

Lastly, the Ronnie Davis Agriculture Barn at Marshall High School is 85% complete. Due to some COVID-19-related delays, the barn is scheduled to be finished in April.
