Winter break, local meetings: 4 things to know in Sugar Land and Missouri City this week, Jan. 1-5

Several meetings take place Tuesday, and Fort Bend ISD students remain on winter break through the end of this week.

1) Fort Bend County Commissioners Court hosts several public hearings during a regular meeting Tuesday at 1 p.m. at 401 Jackson St., Richmond. Most of the public hearings are in regard to traffic control plans in various portions of Fort Bend County, and one public hearing relates to the creation of Fort Bend County Reinvestment Zone 19 in Precinct 1. 2) Sugar Land City Council meets at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at 2700 Town Center Blvd., Sugar Land. Public hearings will be held regarding planned developments at Imperial Market and a conditional use permit for a retail building on 1.73 acres along Eldridge Parkway north of West Airport Blvd. A workshop will also be held regarding the Sugar Land Town Square Plaza Improvement Project. 3) Missouri City City Council hosts a special meeting at 6 p.m. and a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at 1522 Texas Parkway, Missouri City. Council will discuss the city’s capital improvement program during the special meeting. Preview the special meeting agenda here. A public hearing will be held during the regular meeting regarding a request to rezone a tract of land from a patio-cluster residential district to a planned development district for an independent senior living multifamily community.
