State Fare Kitchen & Bar permanently closed its Sugar Land restaurant in early January, according to the company’s website.
The overview
The restaurant opened in Sugar Land Town Square in 2020, as previously reported by Community Impact.
Centered around Southern hospitality, the restaurant is known for its weekend brunch and happy hour menus. The company is still operating its two other locations in Memorial City and The Woodlands.
The backstory
State Fare was acquired by Culinary Khancepts, the parent company behind Star Cinema Grill and Liberty Kitchen, two years before the Sugar Land location's debut.
Construction for the Town Square location began in 2019 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. After opening in July 2020, State Fare drew large weekend brunch crowds and hours-long waits.
