Seafood City, a grocer selling Filipino food, beauty products and specialty items, will renovate to add a new food service department to its Sugar Land location, a store representative said.

The details

The Sugar Land location opened last December as the grocer’s first location in Texas, Community Impact reported. The store has grown from one location in 1980 to over 30 across the U.S., according to the store’s website.

What else

There’s not yet a timeline for when the renovation will be complete, the store representative said. However, project details from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation show construction could wrap up in late November.

Meanwhile, family-owned bakery The Baker’s Son is set to open within the grocery store this year, Community Impact reported.
