Cultural Kite Festival
The city of Sugar Land hosts the ninth annual festival, which returns to the sky with kite-making workshops, competitions and cultural performances by community groups. The day is intended to appeal to visitors of all ages.

West Houston Musclepalooza
The third annual event features rides on display, food trucks, snow cones, a beer garden, music, raffles and a children’s area. 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Free (admission), $10 (parking), additional cost to show vehicle. Brazos Cultural Heritage Festival
The Fort Bend Museum presents the inaugural event created to spotlight the many cultures that make up Fort Bend County. Families can learn cultural dances, participate in heritage crafts and learn traditional music.

KVPAC Arts for All Family Festival
The family festival features live theater performances and artist demonstrations. It includes local businesses and organizations offering free child-focused activities, such as face painting, make-it-and-take-it art projects, creative games, hair painting and art for sale.

Up, Up and Away Inflatable Fun Day
Elyson, a Newland Communities development and one of Katy’s newest neighborhoods, hosts the event. Highlights include bounce houses, a giant slide and an inflatable obstacle course.

‘It’s TEXAS, Y’all!’
The Lone Star Symphonic Band performs a Texas and western-themed concert with selections, such as “Southwestern Wildflowers” by Randol Alan Bass and “Burnin’” by Gary Ziek. Founded in 1993, the band is a nonprofit volunteer organization that performs throughout the Greater Houston area.
