A project is under construction to expand Riley Fuzzel Road to five lanes with improved drainage between Elm Street and the Hardy Toll Road. The project also will realign the road at West Hardy to incorporate a four-way intersection and close the railroad crossing at Caroline Street to accommodate a new crossing north of Riley Fuzzel. Officials from Harris County Precinct 4’s Capital Improvement Projects Division said they are also evaluating additional drainage upgrades. While the road had opened to four lanes in early April, the contractor will remain on-site to complete outstanding work items for the next several weeks.
