Local Realtors answer questions about trends and offer tips to homebuyers and sellers considering buying or selling a home in or around Spring and Klein.

What is the best color a homeowner should use to paint the interior of a house to attract buyers?

Any neutral is well-received as long as it is light in color. Some of our favorites are Alpaca by Sherwin Williams and Kilim Beige.

Should the carpeting be replaced?

If the carpeting will not come completely clean, is worn or is a color that is no longer popular with buyers, yes.

What rooms do buyers care about most when deciding to purchase a home?

The top three rooms are the kitchen, main living space and master bedroom and master bath.

Should sellers invest in new decorations to help sell the house?

Staging is not redecorating—it’s about maximizing the space you are selling and making it appear as advantageously as possible.

What decorations should sellers put away?

Depersonalizing is a good idea, but decluttering is even more important.

Should the seller bake something or light a candle for the potential buyer?

Neutral is best. You never know what allergies or sensitivities the buyer is experiencing. We recommend Clean Linen scent, if any at all.
