Several hospitals serving the Spring and Klein communities are celebrating major milestones or new development within their facilities, according to hospital officials. Here are some of the updates hospital officials provided on operations. This list is not comprehensive.
HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest
HCA Houston welcomed a number of new faces in 2026, with new Assistant Chief Nursing Officer Amber Ferro taking over the position in mid-March. The system also welcomed new Chief Operating Officer Angela Dillon on May 18, while the system’s Chief Financial Officer Tom Holt announced his retirement at the beginning of June.
Aki Mathieu, formerly the CFO for the Women’s Hospital of Texas, will be taking over as CFO in June.
Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital
Houston Methodist received the Healthgrades “triple crown” in 2026 by becoming accredited in clinical quality, patient safety and patient experience. The hospital system also received a $25 million commitment from The Duncan Fund to support the Houston Methodist Department of Medicine.
The donation will help fund research for streamlined coordination of complex, multidisciplinary care by physicians, the applicability of artificial intelligence in hospital settings and the creation of five new endowed fellowships.
Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital
The Melissa Preston Breast Care Center at Medical Plaza 3 opened this year, as did the hospital’s new Medical Plaza 5, which includes the TIRR Memorial Hermann Outpatient Rehabilitation, previously at Medical Plaza 2.
In addition, a new Amazon Just Walk Out food and beverage retail storefront will open in June. The hospital also renovated the Women’s Services area and the South Tower entrance.
St. Luke’s Health - Springwoods Village
The St. Luke’s - Springwoods Village hospital is celebrating 10 years of operations in the Spring area in 2026.
“We are incredibly proud to celebrate ten years of fulfilling our promise to bring exceptional care to Spring,” said Jim Parisi, hospital president. “This milestone reflects the dedication of our amazing team and the incredible support we've received from our community. We look forward to many more years of healing and compassionate care for those we serve.”
The hospital also officially launched a new orthopedics clinic in April, bringing in additional sport medicine capabilities alongside new equipment.
St. Luke's Health - The Vintage Hospital
The American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation awarded St. Luke’s Health - The Vintage Hospital with a recognition for Practice Transition Programs for the hospital’s nursing residency program.
"This accreditation is a testament to the incredible dedication of our nursing leadership, educators, mentors and all who contribute to the success of our new graduate nurses," said Ruth Owusu, DNP, RN, chief nursing officer for the Houston Market. "It reflects our deep-seated belief in nurturing the next generation of nursing talent and our commitment to developing a highly skilled and compassionate workforce.”
TOPS Surgical Specialty Hospital
Officials with specialty surgery hospital TOPS announced a new location is set to be constructed in the Spring area. The new hospital will be located along Gosling Road in Spring and will be the second TOPS location in the Spring area.
The new facility will include:
- Two additional operating rooms
- 10 additional observation beds
- 13 inpatient beds to support expanded inpatient and short-stay care.
- Modernized patient care areas
A groundbreaking is expected to take place in late June with an anticipated February 2027 opening timeframe.
