Spring Interfaith Council’s Thanksgiving Service

The Spring Interfaith Council invites area residents to attend its Thanksgiving service titled “Honoring the Gifts of Creation.” The event will include a gratitude dance from the Hindu community, music from an interfaith choir, a discussion of creation and time for prayer. Refreshments will be provided and many faith communities will have tables set up throughout the event with activities such as henna painting and making beaded prayer bracelets. Any offering collected during the service will benefit local nonprofit Sleep in Heavenly Peace. In addition to monetary donations, attendees can bring twin-sized bedding or pillows to support the nonprofit’s cause.Pictures with Santa

Pet photo opportunities with Santa will also be offered from 4-7 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays from Nov. 20-Dec. 5. 'James and the Giant Peach, Jr.'

The Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts invites visitors of all ages to this historical pop-up event, featuring a pioneer trunk show at 11 a.m. followed by the Apache Creation Story and a flute performance at noon. Free historical crafts and presentations will be offered throughout the event, and interactive booths will be on-site, hosted by organizations including the Sam Houston Heritage Society, the Spring Historical Museum, the San Jacinto Museum, the Southern Apache Museum, the American Indian Center of Houston and The American Indian Genocide Museum, among others. The Kailee Mills Foundation, a Spring-based nonprofit, will host its third annual gala to raise funds for seatbelt safety awareness.
