Marking a milestone
Theiss Elementary is led by Principal Jessica Taylor and serves children in grades pre-K through fifth grade, according to the school’s website.
“For five decades, Theiss Elementary has been at the heart of this neighborhood, fostering a love of learning, building lasting relationships and inspiring success,” Taylor said in the news release. “This celebration helps us look forward to continuing our tradition of excellence for many years to come.”
KISD’s celebration included a 1970s theme and vintage Theiss Elementary memorabilia, according to the release.
What’s in a name
Theiss Elementary is named after German immigrant Jacob Theiss, who founded Klein with his family and other families in 1854, according to the release.
“We are so proud to celebrate 50 years of learning, excellence and fun at Theiss Elementary,” Superintendent Jenny McGown said via the release. “It was an honor to celebrate with members of the Theiss founding family, whose legacy of love and dedication continues to shape this amazing school community.”
