On Sept. 7, Spring ISD's board voted unanimously to cancel the November trustee election for positions 4 and 5.

SISD Board Vice President Winford Adams Jr. and Assistant Secretary Rhonda Newhouse are unopposed for their trustee spots.

"I just want to say congratulations to Trustee Adams and Trustee Newhouse," SISD General Counsel Jeremy Binkley said.

Two Spring ISD trustees are up for re-election this fall but will be running unopposed, according to candidate filings posted on the district’s website.

In a nutshell

SISD board Vice President Winford Adams Jr. and Assistant Secretary Rhonda Newhouse will be running for their trustee spots—positions 4 and 5, respectively—on Election Day on Nov. 7.
  • Adams and Newhouse were last re-elected in November 2020 after running unopposed.
  • Newhouse and Adams began serving on the school board in 2014 and 2017, respectively.
The last day for challengers to file for candidacy was Aug. 21. Each of SISD's seven-member board of trustees is elected to serve a three-year term.
