Spring ISD leaders named two district employees and a former Houston ISD employee to open administrator positions during the board’s March 22 meeting.

Matthew Pariseau, who previously served as SISD’s assistant superintendent of curriculum and workforce development, was hired to fill Superintendent Lupita Hinojosa’s former position—chief of innovation and equity. The position has been open since Hinojosa took over the superintendent role in late January.

“You know his work and all the innovation that he brings to the district,” Hinojosa said at the March 22 meeting. “And so we will continue that work.”

Pariseau joined SISD in 2013 as an instructional coach, according to a March 2 news release from SISD. After that, he worked his way up to the role of special education coordinator and director.

Coming to SISD from HISD, Hilarion Martinez will bring 20 years of experience to his new role as SISD's new assistant superintendent for Feeder Pattern 1. Martinez’s new position was previously occupied by current Chief of Schools Miguel Perez.

Additionally, Laura Hunter, Westfield High School's interim principal, was named the new principal for the school she has been leading for almost one year, Hinojosa said. Hunter has a 30-year career in education, according to Westfield High School's website, and she has previously worked as an assistant principal, associate principal, principal, central office administrator and teacher.

“We’re going to make Westfield the best school in Spring ISD,” Hunter said at the meeting. “Thank you for this opportunity.”
