Antique style sweet shop Craving Kernels is opening a second location in Spring off Cypresswood Drive come July, owner Tracey Harmon said.
What's in the name
Owners Randy and Tracey Harmon, who are husband and wife, opened the downtown Tomball Craving Kernels location in 2018, where the team makes the popcorn they sell. Popular popcorn flavors out of their over 80 different options include Extra Buttery, Cheddar and Zebra Drizzle.
General Manager Julie Carranza said they ship their popcorn all over the country, and even have regular costumers that drive in from Dallas.
Along with their popcorn and tins, Craving Kernels sells:
- Homemade fudge and cookies
- Silly sodas
- Malt milkshakes
- Hershey's ice cream
- Candies
As well as shipping out their sweets, Tracey said Craving Kernels fills orders for corporate gifting, weddings, and more.
Quote of note
"When [customers] come in it feels like an old candy shop, and how we do things, and how we are with the customers, we treat them like family, along with the employees too," Carranza said. "This is a family business, and we keep that going here."
What's new
Tracey said the new Craving Kernels location will sell the same goodies as the original, but will have more seating options for guests to enjoy their treats. They also plan to have a grand opening celebration once they have an official opening date.
