Residents gather at the Klein ISD Multipurpose Center Tuesday night to give feedback on future METRO projects.[/caption]

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County—which operates public transportation such as bus and light rail services—held an open house meeting at the Klein ISD Multipurpose Center Tuesday night to gather feedback from residents on potential future projects.

METRO CEO Tom Lambert addressed the several hundred residents who showed up and reassured the crowd that METRO currently does not have any projects planned in the Spring and Klein area. He said the purpose of the open house was to receive feedback from the community on what projects METRO should or should not pursue.

"We are not here to tell anybody we have a plan," Lambert said. "It's for us to listen to the community and get input in what that plan should look like as the board develops that plan."

This was the seventh meeting out of the 25 open houses METRO has planned throughout the Greater Houston area this year. Lambert said METRO will read through all of the comments provided and then present its findings to METRO's board of directors.

Residents are able to provide feedback through comment cards available at the meeting or online at www.metronext.org.

The next meeting is tonight from 6-8 p.m. at the Phillip Cezeaux Recreational Center, 100 N. Houston Ave., Humble. A full list of meetings can be found here.
