Area chambers of commerce will host several events relating to law enforcement this week, including the first meeting of Coffee With a Cop in Spring and Klein, and a monthly public safety meeting at the Northwest Houston chamber.
Spring and Klein ISDs as well as county offices will reopen Tuesday, Jan. 17 after the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday on Monday, Jan. 16.
Coffee With a Cop, hosted by the Spring Klein Chamber of Commerce, will be held at 9:15 a.m. at McDonald's at 5827 FM 2920, Spring, on Wednesday, Jan. 18. Coffee with a Cop is a monthly meeting that centers around community issues, such as human trafficking. 281-257-9559.

The Northwest Houston Chamber of Commerce government affairs meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18 at Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital Conference Center, 18220 Hwy. 249, Houston. The guest will be Harris County Judge Ed Emmett. 281-440-4160.

Members of the Houston City Council, the AIA Houston Urban Design Committee, the Houston-Galveston Area Council and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Houston will host a
flood symposium with a panel of experts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18. The event is held at the George R. Brown Convention Center. The symposium will focus on regional flooding and storm surges in Harris County.
