Area school boards and the Harris County Commissioner's Court meet this week, and a local arts venue is hosting a music performance on Tuesday.

The Spring ISD Child Nutrition Department will host a job fair from 8:30 a.m.-noon on Tuesday, Jan. 10 at the Child Nutrition and Training Center, 15330 Kuykendahl Road, Houston. The district will accept applications for Child Nutrition Specialists. No previous experience is required, but individuals must enjoy working with children and being part of a team. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age; have a valid Texas driver’s license or state-issued ID, social security card, and contact information for three references; and must successfully pass a background check and fingerprinting. Joshua Messick and Max Dyer will perform a selection of originals and standards on dulcimer at Cypress Creek FACE on Tuesday, Jan. 10. Messick uses modern techniques and traditional melodies and writes original compositions that feature improvisations. Dyer has performed cello in opera, chamber music, folk, jazz settings and world music settings.
