For the second consecutive year, the city of Richmond is collecting blankets, coats and warm socks to distribute to churches and nonprofits in the area.

The Share the Warmth project was established in 2015 to help local elderly and disabled residents stay warm through the winter months, according to a statement from the city.

Coats, blankets and socks can be dropped off weekdays from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at the following locations:

  • Richmond City Hall, 402 Morton Street, 281-342-5456

  • Richmond City Annex, 600 Morton Street, 218-232-6871

  • Central Fire Station, 200 Houston Street, 281-238-1210
