George Floyd is to be buried June 9 in Houston Memorial Gardens, located off Cullen Parkway in Pearland. The city of Pearland is closing portions of Cullen, McHard Road and Hughes Ranch Road for Floyd's procession.

The road closure is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. when Floyd is expected to arrive in the city, according to a social media post from Pearland Police Department. However, the road may be closed sooner if there is a need.

According to the Pearland Police Department, the community will see a lot of Texas state troopers in the area to help with traffic control and road closures. According to the city of Pearland, pedestrian traffic will be allowed along public sidewalks to pay respects, though the entombment itself is private.
