Four Walmart Health Centers are set to open across the Houston metro in April—starting with a Pearland location debuting April 9.

The details

A Walmart Health Center will open in Sugar Land on April 10, followed by a health center in Tomball on April 12, per a news release on the incoming clinics. A location on FM 529 is also set to open April 30.

Located next to Walmart Supercenters, Walmart Health clinics offer a range of health care services—including primary care, urgent care, dental, behavioral health, labs, X-rays and community health. They are staffed by board-certified physicians, licensed dentists, behavioral health specialists and other skilled providers.

The health centers are open seven days a week, with weekend and evening hours and telehealth options on Sundays.

Also of note

As part of its continued expansion into the health care sphere, Walmart is preparing to open four more Houston area locations in the summer and fall, per the release.

What else?

Sugar Land Mayor Joe Zimmerman will be joined by Ken Silverstein, Walmart Health vice president of clinical operations; Tiffanie Johnson, Walmart Health's Houston market director; and various health care professionals for a grand opening celebration at the Sugar Land health center located near Hwy. 6.

As part of the celebration, Walmart Health will give a $2,500 grant to local nonprofit African American Male Wellness Agency, which aims to improve the lives of African American men and their families.
