Manvel City Council approved an agreement with Brazoria County to carry out work on four roads throughout town, but the cost, timeline and approval from Brazoria County itself are still pending.

The full story

The work will include overlays with new paving on each road, according to city documents. The roads include:
  • Alleluia Trail from Mason Road to the end
  • Kirchner Road from Clark Road to the end
  • Mason Road from County Road 181 to the end
  • Burnett Road from Kirchner Road to the end

The work across all four roads will total nearly 10,000 feet, which is close to two miles total, according to city documents.

What else?

The agreement calls for the county to provide labor and equipment for the project, while the city will pay for the material needed, according to the agreement.

Mayor Dan Davis said Oct. 22 that neither the timeline nor the cost are known at this point, but mentioned the county helping out with labor and equipment should help save taxpayers money.

“It’s a great way for those that live in the city limits to put their county tax dollars to work,” he said.

If the item is approved by the Brazoria County Commissioner’s Court at a later date, it should give a better sense of both the start date and cost.

Remember this?

This road work comes a few months after Brazoria County began work on four other roads within Manvel, which was previously reported on by Community Impact.
