The City of Pearland’s Convention and Visitors Bureau announced Aug. 13 it is officially changing its name to “Visit Pearland,” which officials said “more accurately represents the work” the department does, according to a news release from the city.

Started in 2013, the department has operated under both “Visit Pearland” brand and the Convention and Visitors Bureau name since its inception, according to the release. Executive Director Tracy Rohrbacher called it a “natural transition.”

“Presenting under the one title moving forward will help clarify both our brand and our mission,” Rohrbacher said in the release.

Among its goals, Visit Pearland looks to attract visitors and generate tourism dollars through overnight stays, and boost the local economy through marketing, services and events, among other things, according to the release.

“Supporting the city of Pearland through its evolution this past decade has been very rewarding,” Rohrbacher said in the release. “There have been changes through the years, but the core of our work remains the same; Pearland is an attractive destination city and it’s our role to celebrate and promote it as such.”
