Both elections were to be held in May, but were postponed due to the coronavirus.
Pearland ISD is also holding a Voter-Approval Tax Rate Election, which would solidify the tax rate of $1.3585 per $100 valuation for fiscal year 2020-21. If approved, the rate would bring in an additional $10 million to the district. Of the $10 million, 65% would be funded by the state, and 35% would be funded locally. According to early voting results, 22,229 of the 40,652 votes cast were against the proposition.
Results are updated as of 11:13 a.m. and are unofficial until they are canvassed and certified by the county clerk. Under Texas election law, the clerk accepts and counts mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day and received by Nov. 4, if they were sent from inside the U.S., or Nov. 9 if they were sent from outside the U.S.
