A new principal at Bales Intermediate and a new executive director for facilities and capital projects at Friendswood ISD are set to begin their new positions ahead of the 2025-26 school year.

FISD’s board of trustees approved the two new positions at its April 28 workshop.

The overview

Current Bales Intermediate assistant principal Emily Stanley will take over as principal for Bales Intermediate beginning in the 2025-26 school year, according to board agenda documents.

Stanley is a Friendswood High School graduate and has 15 years of experience in education as a classroom teacher, instructional coach and campus administrator, district documents note.


She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in educational leadership, according to district documents.

Stanley will replace Ryan Kopp, who will serve as the district’s assistant superintendent of secondary teaching and learning beginning in the 2025-26 school year, as previously reported by Community Impact.

What else?

Trustees also approved Nolan Correa, currently associate director of construction and planning at Texas City ISD, as its new executive director of facilities and capital projects.


Other experience from Correa includes being a chief operations officer at Beeville ISD, associate superintendent of operations in Humble ISD and principal at Summer Creek High School at HISD.

Correa will begin his position for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year and for the entire 2025-26 school year, district documents note.

The board also approved a handful of new positions for the 2025-26 school year at its workshop, district documents show.

  • Elementary and secondary special education program specialists
  • Strength and conditioning high school coach
  • Natatorium coordinator
  • Technical theater director
  • High school science and English teachers
