What you need to know

The Texas Academic Performance Report highlights student performance in each school and district in Texas each year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

The performance report is heavily measured by the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness results. Performance is also shown disaggregated by student groups, including ethnicity and socioeconomic status.

Other items reported are college, career and military readiness; attendance, graduation and dropout rates; and staff and program information, according to district documents. PISD’s full 2023-24 TAPR report could be viewed through the district’s website.

By the numbers

According to the report, PISD saw improvements in the majority of the performance measurements in the 2022-23 school year, including scores compared to the state and its region, Region 4, which contains 53 other area districts.

The following shows a percentage of scores for those who met grade level expectations.
