The setup
While the new website shares similar features to the previous one, such as options to see announcements, a login option for grade checks and a department section, the new website is more user friendly to noncomputer devices, PISD Director of Communications Cissa Madero said in an email.
The website also features higher resolution pictures and videos, Madero said in the email.
The new website’s origin took place at the end of 2022 after PISD officials felt it was time for a change, as the previous website was seven years old, Madero said in the email.
Once the board approved the vendor contract in March 2023, PISD officials began the design process of the new website.
Quote of note
“We are excited to launch a new website that reflects our district pride and energy,” Madero said in the email. “We are proud of the final product, but we also know that information is ever-changing, so we are focused on always sharing content that is relevant and accurate to the needs of all the audiences we serve.”
One more thing
The district’s new podcast is hosted by PISD Superintendent Larry Berger. “Building Blocks” releases a new episode every Tuesday, featuring weekly guests, including staff, board members, students and community members, Madero said in the email.
Topics discussed include district programs, enrollment, transportation, mental health, timely events and more, Madero said in the email.
The podcast can be streamed on PISD’s Youtube channel or on any podcast platform.
