Pearland ISD approves academic calendar for 2024-25 school year

Pearland ISD students will start school Aug. 12 for the 2024-25 school year after the district’s board of trustees approved the new academic calendar at its Jan. 23 meeting.

What you need to know

The academic calendar was created by PISD’s District Advisory Calendar Committee, according to district agenda documents. Among the highlights of the new calendar include a newly added fall break for students.

The last day of school will be on May 22, 2025, according to the calendar.

The details

According to the documents, scheduled breaks for PISD include:

• Fall break, Oct. 17-18
• Thanksgiving break, Nov. 25-29
• Winter break, Dec. 23-Jan. 3
• Spring break, March 17-21

Student holidays include:

• Labor Day, Sept. 2
• Staff development and instructional planning, Sept. 20, Oct. 16, Nov. 15, Jan. 6 and 7, Feb. 17, and April 21
• Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 20
• Good Friday, April 18
