Shaw was a successful student athlete while attending FISD, Roher said. He also served as a youth basketball coach for Friendswood ISD, a participant in the Clear Creek Elementary Mentoring Program and a board liaison for the FISD Education Foundation, according to the release. His children also attended FISD, according to the release. Shaw worked as an engineer in the aerospace field, according to the release.
