Alvin ISD trustees approved a tax rate of $1.1249 per $100 valuation of a home for fiscal year 2026-27 at its Sept. 1 workshop.
What residents need to know
The rate combines $0.7301 for maintenance and operations, or M&O, which pays for daily operations, and $0.3948 for interest and sinking, or I&S, which pays bond debt, according to budget documents.
The FY 2026-27 tax rate is around 2% lower than last year’s rate of $1.15 per $100 valuation of a home, documents show.
Based on that rate, a homeowner with a median homestead taxable value of $380,000 would have an estimated annual property tax bill of about $2,670, documents show.
Compared to FY 2025-26, the estimated annual property tax bill was about $2,550, with an average residential market value of over $365,000, as previously reported by Community Impact.
In case you missed it
In June, trustees approved nearly $381.4 million in expenses and around $391.4 million in revenue for FY 2026-27, budget documents show.
Additionally, the board previously approved a budget amendment May 12 that included a 3% cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, for employees in FY 2026-27, which was incorporated into the adopted budget.
