The Health Sciences and Classroom Building at the University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Pearland campus opened for Alvin Community College classes Jan. 14. UHCL students will start classes in the new building Jan. 22.
The building will host the intro to philosophy class for ACC students as well as some of the classes for UHCL Pearland nursing students, Executive Director for Campus Operations Kathy Dupree said.
This new building is the second building for the Pearland campus and includes a 100-seat lecture hall, a nurses' and pharmacy station, and two science labs, Dupree said. The campus has potential to add buildings and programs if there is a need, Dupree said.
“I can’t speak for the senior administration, but for myself I would say the next step is definitely to be able look forward as far as adding programs that would meet the needs of the community—not only the Pearland community, but Brazoria County,” Dupree said.
