As Pearland and Friendswood’s population increases, the demographic population has changed as well.

According to 2019 five-year data from the U.S. Census Bureau, the percentage of people of color living in both cities increased over the last five years. This is compared to data from the 2014 five-year data.

From 2014 to 2019, the city of Pearland’s population increased by 25%, according to data from the census. At the same time, the percentage of white people living in Pearland decreased from from 47.22% to 42.23% in the city. The Hispanic/Latino, Black or African American, American Indian or Alaskan native, and Asian populations all increased in the same time frame.
The city of Friendswood’s population increased by 7%. Meanwhile, the percentage of white people living in the city decreased from 42.23% The Hispanic/Latino, Black or African American, American Indian or Alaskan native, and Asian populations all increased in the same time frame.
