Brazoria County reported 21 new COVID-19 cases and five recoveries May 28, including one Texas Department of Criminal Justice inmate and nine nursing home-related cases.
This brings the total number of cases in Brazoria County to 882, consisting of 406 confirmed cases, five probable cases, 459 recoveries and 12 deaths.
The cases reported May 28 include 11 Pearland residents, five Alvin residents, one Richwood resident, one Danbury resident and one West Columbia resident.
As of May 28, there are 102 active cases of COVID-19 in Pearland, with 67 of those cases being patients over age 60. Pearland is also where 90% of current active COVID-19 cases in the 80-plus age range are located within Brazoria County.
