The Pearland Economic Development Corp. will host its first job fair Sept. 29 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Pearland Recreation Center at 4141 Bailey Road in collaboration with the Pearland Chamber of Commerce and the Workforce Solutions Pearland career office.

Job seekers can attend for free for the opportunity to win door prizes, connect with community resources, receive resume assistance and learn interview tips, and they are encouraged by the PEDC to bring copies of their resume as they will meet employers, according to the event's description on the PEDC's website.

“We have received a tremendous response from the community and look forward to creating some lasting career connections,” PEDC Workforce Director Mou Sarkar said in the PEDC release.

Nearly 50 employers from 11 industries will be present, including Lonza, Endress+Hauser, Kelsey-Seybold, Burns and McDonnell, the city of Pearland, Aggreko, Emerson, Third Coast Terminals, Kemlon, Hilton Garden Inn, Marriott, Keating Toyota, Alvin Community College, Waffle House, Dover Precision Components, Brask Inc, Allied Fire Protection and Portable Air, according to the release.

Available job openings include process and field technicians, construction workers, HVAC technicians, welders, machinists, health care workers, drivers, warehouse workers, project managers, engineers, customer service and sales. Some of the industries represented at the job fair include manufacturing, health care, construction, government, hospitality, automotive, education, administrative, transportation and insurance, according to the release.
