Friendswood city staff met with the committee Jan. 21 to identify bond items that could be presented to City Council at an upcoming meeting to decide whether to send the bond to voters for consideration.

While nothing is set in stone, one item discussed at the meeting was a proposed recreational center near Lundy Lane.
Members of the committee suggested building a smaller building downtown, while phasing the larger sports complex at Lundy Lane for a future bond proposal.
However, city staff said that downtown locations lacked the necessary acreage for the full facility, leaving Lundy Lane or Centennial Park as the only viable options.
Staff also discussed an overhaul of Stevenson Park, specifically the aging pool, which was described as “past its life.”
